MailRaider Pro App Reviews

19 Customer Reviews:

Some msg files open up just fine while some others simply open the app but don’t display the contents. Thus your mileage may vary. If it works, mails are displayed “ok” but not like in Outlook.

Description is a straight lie

It does NOT display the message using original formatting. If you had images inline - it will convert them to attachments and not show inline.

- doesnt save open *.msg message to any other. I specify the taget folder, click save, but nothing is saved. - need to close it in Doc to ope a new msg file. When I close a current one, Im not able to open the app menu again. Trying to click on apps icon in Doc, but nothing is happinning. - does not save msg files of 2nd level properly. If a current msg file contains other msg files attached I have the problems: these files are disaplayed with wrong default names (embedded.msg) and if I save such files and try to open them separatelly via the app, then the message is open as empty, no ifo displayed. Sure that there are more defects and gaps, but dont want to use this anymore...

Excellent app!

This is a light and capable app that gets the job done. What more does one need?

My original review was written in frustration. But the program developer responded quickly and fixed the problem of bulk conversion. Works great now and is just what I needed with so many emails to convert. Thanks.

Works well

I like that .msg files are opened by default by Mail Raider when you click on them. Files with attachements opened well also.

I never got a chance to use the software. due to the piss-poor phrasing and formatting of the description text I failed to understand that this application is focused tward Microsoft Outlook only, and can only apparently export to .mbox format. It cannot open mbox files used by Apple’s Mail.app. just more money & time waisted on my quest to find a decent email archive search solution.

While this is not a program I use frequently, on the occasions someone sends an Outlook meesage that cannot be opened in Mac Mail, this program is invaluable. Support is exceptional with the author getting back to respond to questions within hours of an email. Keep up the good work!

It covers the basics of opening .msg files to retrieve their text and attachments. On the positive side, I am glad there is such an app—it is baffling that Mac version of Outlook cannot read files created on the Windows version of Outlook. On the negative side: - There is significant loss of fidelity of formatting. For instance, messages received in HTML with images and tables and saved as .msg, when opened in MailRider Pro, do not display most of their original formatting - It lacks integration with Mail or Outlook, which competing apps offer - It lacks a feature to create files associations from MailRider Pro—I had to do that myself, which leaves me with a meaningless icon

The pro version opens mail so seamlessly I didn’t realize it was working until it dawned on me I was reading my imported Outlook mail msg files on my new Mac. Support is excellent and it’s taking a lot of the stress out of moving from a PC to a Mac. With around 5 gigs of mail to store, I was a basket case until I realized I could access all my files on the new laptop.

After a few hours wasted, I gave up. The app does convert contacts from .MSG to .VCF files. However just a small subset of all the fields are actually read and converted. Desappointing. Money wasted.

Was wondering

It works. You just need to know to right click on the Msg file to do it. Thanks.

Not adequate for my purposes

This product does not preserve any graphic images in the .msg file--theyre just ignored.

I downloaded this application to review some msg files from a client and the attachments. The app was intuitive and easy to use and did exactly what I needed it to do. For the msg files with attachments, the attachment drawer slides out on the right side and displays each attachment. I was able to click on Word and PDF attachments and read them. Price was fair for the excellent functionality. I would recommend MailRaider Pro to anyone who needs to review msg files.

I have a few legacy messages I needed to review for an older project. The messages were stored in an older version of Outlook and I could not open them. This program worked great and was reasonably priced for what I needed it to do.

Garbage

Program crashes immediately when trying to convert an MSG file — total waste of money.

This app works decently well to convert Outlook MSG files. However, in converting large batches, I did run into several issues with fidelity of formatting not matching the original. The interface appears a little outdated, but works decently well.

this review is from someone who is not tech savvy. ! i had a “professional” transfer my PC over to my new Mac desk top. There were several files that transferred from my home screen that I was not able to open on my mac bc they were .msg form. I called Apple Care and he was able to google my problem and he found MailRaider App and said maybe that would help. I looked into the App, saw 2 versions and not knowing exactly what I needed, I bought the pro version, just a dollar more. i tried agian to open these files and it still didn’t work so I read reviews under the MailRaider App, that is where i found a review that told me i needed to right click on the file I want to view. i went back to the files, right clicked on the ones I wanted to read, then clicked on “open with” which showed a pop up with one of the options being MailReader pro, i clicked on that and voila there was the file i wasn’t able to read for the past 6 months since I’ve had everything transfered over. yeah! Thanks you to Apple Care for helping me find this app, thank you to the person who told me I must right click on the item i wanted to read and finally thank you to mailRaider for creating this App. not sure if i did overkill by downloading the Pro version, but for a dollar difference…who cares!
